DIY printable fabric paper.

Supplies: muslin, cardstock paper, spray adhesive, printer.

Making your own digital paper is easy and cheaper than buying the pre-made packs.
Here is how I make it...

DIY instructions:

Spray the back of your cardstock paper with your spray adhesive which you can get at any craft store.

Place the sticky side to pressed muslin and cut evenly around.
Then you will print your image. Make sure to print on the muslin side.

Remove from the adhesive paper after it has dried for awhile. I usually save the paper for more prints. Iron the print on a cotton setting for a minute or so to set the ink.
Top stitch or add a iron on adhesive like steam-a-seam paper sheets to the back.

    1. Wash as little as possible, try handwashing if you can get away with it or delicate setting with delicate soap. When you print it out just make sure to set the ink by pressing with a high setting for a couple minutes...

  6. Question, did you have to print the image in reverse or anything?

  11. muslin is a fabric that comes from India. it's a raw thin fabric. Google muslin under images to get a better look at it.

  14. I don't know if this would help with keeping the color from bleeding or fading when you wash it but try a bath in regular household vinegar. I use it when I dye feathers and the dye will not wash out. I hope it works for you!

  15. Is it essential to "Top stitch or add a iron on adhesive like steam-a-seam paper sheets to the back", and what does it do? Thanks :) Great solution, thanks either way - Melissa

  16. What a nice way to make your own custom tshirts using printable fabric!

Just want to point out that there are a lot of different commercial options for printable fabric as well for those who don’t want to go through the hassle of finding suitable fabric, cutting it to the appropriate size, and finding and applying a suitable stiff backing to prevent printer jams.

The Electric Quilt Company actually provides a nice selection of printable fabric in varying fabric thread counts and sizes:
