Supplies: donated dress
Made this for my good friend's wedding this weekend. I wanted something lovely, fun, colorful, and twirly...I think this fits just that.
Before: This dress had lovely lace but the silhouette was outdated and frumpy. I shortened the skirt and turned the back into the front, took in the seams, and shortened the sleeves.
I added this belt I made to highlight my waistline...The belt was a sequined appliqué from an old dress and I just added ribbon to the ends to tie in the back.

Wow! You did a wonderful job. The shape of the dress is much more flattering. That color is lovely as well. Fantastic. :)

DeleteBeautiful! I think you could do a post on the belt by itself, so cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess, I would love to...I'd have to make sure the supplies would be available though...I made the belt from appliques from an old dress.

Love the blue dress! Why hasn't Hollywood called yet? I can only live vicariously.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I think what you're doing here is a whole new level of thrifting. I really love the DIYs, I wanted to ask you if you had any more ideas about doing more of the jeweled dress upcycles. I find loads of those around my area, but I don't know what to do with them. I'd really appreciate a couple ideas.
