DIY Printed Victorian Shorts

Supplies: fabric (1 yard)
pair of shorts

The warm weather is almost here and it inspires me to start sewing summer pieces. Shorts are such a small piece of clothing that you can add color and prints too. I've always loved the victorian, shabby chic type fabrics and what a cute pair of shorts they made. I'm not fond of making pants/shorts...they never fit well. This time I drafted a pattern from a nice fit pair of shorts and it worked out perfectly.

Draft a pattern from shorts and copy where to sew. Find a pair of shorts that are simple to recreate. These had the zipper on the side seam which was perfect.

I love these shorts! Tailored and whimsical!

  7. Just discovered your blog! It's cool! I was searching for t-shirt remakde ideas or something like that. It was fun to find the lace skirt from an oversized shirt, since I just made one myself, only, not white, but mint colour. Cost me less than a pound, or less than 2$ where you from.
    Good luck and happy Easter!

  13. I have an old pair of leather pants from 1984 (think MC Hammer style, lol) that I want to turn into a great pair of shorts. If the waist wasn't 20" I would have just made them skinnies, but alas, who has a 20" waist besides an 8 year old? haha! So glad I found this site for the inspiration! You are so creative!
