Supplies: Vintage Slip for liner ($2 -$5)
Crochet pillow cases (thrift find: $5.00 for set!)
The moment I saw this set of pillow cases, I knew this would be a dress. I seam ripped the crochet from the muslin cases. I then formed the crochet into the liner slip by sewing the seams. I didn't want to lose the natural edges so I sewed them around the neckline. I added a zipper on the side seam. Very short but the 1950's neckline and capped sleeves even it out.
Doesn't look like it came from a pillow case does it!?

crochet is so beautiful and this is such a creative idea how stylish and gorgeous it turned out

ReplyDeletewhere did you find the crochet pillow cases? I've been looking everywhere but I can't seem to find any
ReplyDeleteI have 2 sets of crochet pillowcases that I've been wanting to try this (and similar ideas) with, very lovely! Also, for fall, it would look real pretty over a matching long sleeve (or neutral tone), some knitted tights, then a nice pair of boots! Love your work!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where you found the slips for only 5 dollars. I was looking online and all of them ended up being 20 dollars or more.
ReplyDeletethrift stores...they have loads. I get them for $2.00 sometimes
DeleteI have that exact set of pillowcases! I got them for $2.50 at a thrift store. Wasn't sure what to do with them, but now I am thinking shirt!!
