DIY: Machine Embroidered Towels

Spring is near and what better way to celebrate than to make some Spring inspired projects. I just love this Woodland Animal collection from OESD. The darling designs eight adorable animals amongst blooms. I really wanted to add some fun to my boys bathroom so I though these would be great on towels. I let them each pick out what color and animal they'd like. Funny they picked the animal that fit their personalities the most.

Get the details below on how to make your own.

Use Ultra Clean and Tear as the stabilizer for the back. I also like to use StitcH20 WashAway on the top of the towel to be keep stitches from sinking into the nap of the fabric.

Use a spray adhesive like 404 spray adhesive to join the water soluble stabilizer to the top of the towel.

The key to a nice embroidered towel is making sure the design and lettering is centered. Mark the center of the towel. That way you can make sure the design center is along the center of the towel as well.

Hoop all 3 layers together.

Set your machine up to embroider ensuring the design is centered along the center line marking.

When adding the name I did have to re-hoop the towel and stabilizers. Again making sure the lettering was centered.

  1. I try to refresh in my memory, what I thought about when I graduated from elementary school. There definitely were no such plans like you have, I did not think about the college or the future and lived the moment I had. You have a goal and already clearly understand what you need and what you don't, that's a luck! I wish all the best with your plans.
