Supplies: table runner.
favorite pair of shorts for pattern.
I love a pair of bold short, add a basic blouse to stand out. I wanted a pair of tailored ones and these turned out great.
Before it was a table runner. I have 2 sets and I never used this one. I love the fabric...and always wanted some tailored leopard print shorts.
This is the same pattern I used for the vintage printed shorts here. I just drafted a pattern from an easy pair of shorts and copied where to sew. I also made a band and added a zipper on the side seam instead of the front.

These are awesome! Great work. I've done projects using sheets before, but the sturdiness of a runner is a great idea for shorts! Plus the print is super bold, which is always great. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! I love that you took it from a table runner. I was wondering if you prefer these with the band and the zipper rather than the vintage fold over pattern. Does one fit better or have more durability?
ReplyDeleteI like the band and zippers because they fit better...thank you!!
DeleteLove them, I need to start drafting some patterns like this.

I love these shorts :) How did you create the fold on the bottom? I can see in the 1st and 2nd picture that there's a fold of some sort. Would you mind sharing?
ReplyDeleteYou are great baby!!!
