DIY Studding

Supplies: Blazer
1/2 inch silver spikes (100 to 200) from StudsandSpikes.com

I've always wanted a spiked collar blazer...I was thrilled when I found studsandspikes.com, they had everything you can imagine when it comes to studding/spiking DIY.  I've had this black blazer since I can remember so here was my first project attempt at spiking...I went with the silver 1/2 inch ones, which you just screw on. Really that easy!

DIY!

I used my grommet pliers to puncture the fabric...for the spots I couldn't get to I used a seam ripper (anything sharp). Then I twisted them through with my hands and a little screw driver. Really that simple and such great effect.

You will want to use leather or denim type fabric for these since they are heavy duty.

A touch of edge for this gal...

P.S. my sister set me up an instagram (trashtocouture). Follow for sneak peaks of future projects...

I did something similar with a pair of shorts, but I bought my studs from here http://www.suntekstore.com/search.php?encode=YTozOntzOjg6ImNhdGVnb3J5IjtzOjE6IjAiO3M6ODoia2V5d29yZHMiO3M6Njoic3Bpa2VzIjtzOjE4OiJzZWFyY2hfZW5jb2RlX3RpbWUiO2k6MTM0MjYyMDcyMjt9 . Sorry for the long link.
I looked at the site you have linked up there and studs are 20 for $8. You can find them a little cheaper here.
